KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia is offering its streamyx GradPack package, which targets college and university students, until Dec 31.

Subscribers will enjoy broadband service at a lower rate, as well as receive some free goodies, according to the telecommunications giant.

GradPack offers two Internet service packages � 384Kbps (kilobits per second) for RM50 a month or 1Mbps (megabit per second) for RM100 monthly.

The students who subscribe will get a free modem, and a streamyx Zone ID which grants them wireless access at more than 1,300 hotspots nationwide.

TM is also waiving its RM75 activation and RM88 installation fees for GradPack users.

Also, subscribers of the 1Mbps package will get access to music portal Hypptunes, video service HyppTV and the Rose Online Evolution massively multiplayer online role-playing game for three months.

In addition to that, they will get a TM�Manchester United special-edition T-shirt for free.

Students who want to subscribe to GradPack must present their student ID at any TMpoint, TMpoint Authorised Dealership (TAD) outlet, or TM authorised reseller nationwide.

If you are suffering from your ADSL Net getting disconnected in 5 - 10 minutes after connecting and then nothing works then this is the solution for you. Many people suffer from the problem. After a few minutes of their connecting to Internet, a weird Win32 Service error shows up and then you can neither disconnect Internet nor can you reconnect it. All you can do is just restart the machine and then go through this process all over again and again.

Microsoft did provide patches for the same later but by then the problem was resolved by the experts. Also those people who do not have fast Internet cannot use those patches. So is there a solution for it without downloading the patches and just tweaking some settings in Windows XP. Fortunately the answer is yes. There are just 2 changes that you need to make. They are described in detail below:

First of all comes system security. So when you start Registry Editor (method is shown below) take a backup of the Registry as this is one of the core components of your Windows Installation. Backing up registry would help you to restore the changes you will make and would save you from a lot of headache later on. To create a backup of registry, navigate to File and click on Export. This will create a backup of your registry which can be restored again.

Click on Start button in the taskbar and navigate to Run. Type "regedit" without quotes in it and press enter. Now on the left panel, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand it and navigate to SYSTEM. Then navigate to CurrentControlSet. In it expand NetBT. Navigate to Parameters. Now in the right panel locate TransportBindName. Just double click it and delete the default value which currently is Devices.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> NetBT --> Parameters --> TransportBindName

Now navigate again to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In it locate Softwares. Now go to Microsoft and expand it. Locate Ole in it. Now in the right panel just locate the value EnableDCOM. The default value in would be Y. Double click it and make the default value N. Now just close Registry Editor and restart the machine. Connect to Internet and voila the net now no longer gets disconnected.

You could also have changed the values of NetBIOS but generally changing the values of these two parameters would eliminate the problem for all. You would not be required to change those values.

Buy And Sell Mobile Homes In Your Park

Why buy and sell mobile homes? It is safe and very profitable if you own a mobile home park. You have to own a mobile home park for this to work most effectively. If you don't, you might want to buy one with this in mind as an extra revenue source.

What is the value of a mobile home? That depends on several things. You might think that the biggest factor influencing the market value of a mobile home is how nice the home itself is, but often this comes third, after location and ease of purchase.

In Durango, Colorado, for example, an old mobile on a rented lot might sell for more than $40,000. Why would it sell for more than many new mobile homes? Because it's a town many people want to live in, with high rent rates and houses starting at $180,000. Also, due to zoning, they aren't building any more mobile home parks.

In other words the biggest part of that price is paid for being allowed to live in that particular mobile home park in that town. Drag the mobile away and it might lose 80% of its value. Location, then determines value. But you can't move your park, so let's look at what you can control.

Create Value By Making Buying Easy

What is a mobile home worth? One important determinant is how easy it is to buy. Let's look at an example.

A young couple wants a nice mobile home. They like the new ones, which cost about $30,000. With the required 10% down payment the available financing is at 14% on a 10-year amortization. This means a payment of $420 per month, plus lot rent of $280 per month. That seems too high for housing costs, but then rents in the area are that high, and they would rather own something.

The problem they have is that they don't have the $3,000 needed for the down payment, nor do they have the money needed for moving the home to a park, and to pay the various other expenses, like the deposit for the park. They only have about $1,000 in the bank. A common scenario these days.

They decide to start looking in the mobile home parks. They find many nice used mobile homes that are selling for $12,000 or less. The problem is that nobody wants to finance older mobiles, so they have no way to buy one.

Then they come to your mobile home park. You have a mobile home for sale. The previous owner had a job transfer, and after trying to sell the home for $8,000 for a couple months, he was desperate. He was still paying lot rent, after all. You offered him $5,000 and he thanked you for resolving his problem.

You paid $100 for someone to clean up the home and put a price of $12,000 on it. Why so high for a mobile that might be worth $8,000? Because the price isn't just about the mobile.
The young couple like it. You tell them that you won't budge on the price, but you will take just a $500 down payment, along with the first month's lot rent. They can afford that. They will pay the balance at $160 per month, with interest at 12%. It will take a little over 10 years to pay it off. They buy it.

Now lets look at this from their perspective. They have a place to stay that they own. It will have some value once paid off. How much? It doesn't really matter. Their housing cost is a couple hundred less per month than if they rented an apartment or bought a new mobile. That means that in ten years they will have spent almost $30,000 less for housing than if they took one of the other alternatives. How could they be worse off. Also, this may be their only option if they want a mobile home, since they have so little cash saved.

How did you do? You made a profit of $7,000 on the mobile, plus you get 12% interest not just on your $5,000 investment, but on the whole balance owed ($11,500 to start). That's a great return on your investment. Now do a dozen more of these.

These opportunities will arise regularly. The owners of the homes need to sell quickly to avoid paying lot rent for months while also paying the expenses in their new home. Selling a home can be a lot of work too. If they hire a sale's agent they'll pay a commission. You can tell them honestly that you buy mobiles to make a profit and can't pay much, but you'll pay cash right now. Many will be happy that you resolved their problem.

On the other end, you can help buyers without cash. As the owner of a mobile home park, you get to say who stays and who goes. That gives you a good degree of control. That control makes it relatively safe for you to sell a mobile home with a small down payment. Remember that in the above example you only have $4,600 invested after your $100 clean-up and receiving the $500 down payment. Even if the new buyers trashed the place and walked away a year later, you will still be able to resell at a profit.

I read a true story about one owner of a park who bought and resold the same mobile home in his park a half dozen times. With interest and capital gains, he figures he eventually made $35,000 off an investment of $4,000. Does that motivate you to try buying and selling mobile homes in your park?

God Of War 2 Preview

Sony has Adsl Autoconnect the first trailer of God Of War 2 and it's a doozy. This game looks like it will earn every little line streamyx customer services creates the letter "M"...as in Mature. The weapons and boss battles look intense and almost give one the impression that the GOW2 team learned a few things from the Shadow of the Colossus game.

Where the original game seemed to be broken up into run here, fight this, run here, fight that segments, GOW2 looks like Kratos won't be able to get much of a breather. Some of the regular enemies look extremely tough and the bosses....fuggedaboutit.

We can tell you one thing: you will believe a griffon can fly. You know, a griffon....one of those mythological beasts that sports the head of an eagle with the body of a lion and the personality of a used car salesman? Kratos gets to ride atop one as it soars over the land, not to mention having to leap over to another beast in midair, Starsky and Hutch style. I don't want to give away any spoilers regarding the first God Of War, but I kind of have to, so if you haven't already played GoW to completion, look away!

Sony hasn't exactly been as "hands on" in the software department as competitors Nintendo and Microsoft. Their first party streamyx pc for the PS2 have been decidely "meh" if you compare them to the love they showed the first PlayStation system. Warhawk, Twisted Metal, Destruction Derby...I mean, those were some kick butt games! When God Of War showed up last year I honestly wasn't expecting much, but after playing the game for 5 minutes, like most of you I was blown away by it all.

Recently Lindsay our Game News Editor reported that GoW2 was in development and I have to admit that I was shocked by the news that the sequel would be appearing on the PS2 and not Sony's next generation monster. That's definitely great news considering fans of the first game won't have to part with hundreds of dollars just to play a visually enhanced sequel

While we don't know too many details of Kratos' next adventure, we can tell you that the mortal warrior who brought down Ares the God of War in the first game (there was that spoiler I was talking about) now sits upon the throne on Mount Olympus, but his adventure is far from over. Now Kratos must journey to the far corners of the Earth in an attempt to end his torment in an epic battle between Gods, monsters and mortals. Of course, it will all be up to you and lame'o gaming skills, so better brush up. You wouldn't want to disappoint a dude like Kratos; he doesn't look like he'd be as understanding as your boss Broadband Signal the local Arby's.

We expect to have lots of time with Kratos next month at E3, so stay tuned for more cool info!

Internet Survival Kit -- Turkish ADSL Chronicles # 1

When Trk Telecom was finally able to deliver ADSL Broadband capability down here to us on the Aegean Streamyx Hotline in 2005, it came not internet timer moment too soon www tmnet streamyx to stop the bleeding of our Internet phone bill, which had leaped suddenly and alarmingly in mid-summer to $150 a month for simple 56kbps dial-up service.

ADSL service came late to our Western coastal township, even later to us beach-side residents. It had arrived in Turkey in the new millennium and had been fully operational in the big cities (starting with Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir) since 2002 -- and in most smaller West-country municipalities since 2004. But it didn't reach our minor Izmir-province municipality until August 2005.

In fact, we had installed our first Internet phone line in 1994 (a year after the commercial Internet became operational in Turkey) as a separate analog line -- so that Peri could use our first line for voice... And, back then, our dial-up usage costs had been about $20 a month including a small amount of KDV (Katma Değer Vergisi -- Value Added Tax) -- in the neighborhood of 5%, if internet router recall correctly.

In 1996, when we upgraded to 56kps digital dial-up service, our Internet phone bill increased to about $25. And it stayed around that level for quite awhile -- until KDV for telephone service was boosted in 2003 (coincidental with the coming to power of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's religious-right AKP political party) to the maximum KDV tax rate of 18%.

But, when 18% wasn't enough to satisfy the new government's tax man, he invented an additional one called İV (zel İletişim Vergisi -- Special Communications Tax) which socked in at 15% right off the bat -- without much warning in 2004.

So, our once perfectly reasonable monthly Internet phone bill during 1994-2002 got bumped by 33% in 2003-4 -- not due to increased usage on our part, but due to phone bill taxes.

And there it stayed, around $35 a month, until 2005 -- when something strange began to happen with Trk Telecom reports of our Internet usage. And, our Internet bill began to climb steeply -- in clear disagreement with my own cost calculations (based on my hitherto impeccably reliable dial-up service computer logs).

Twice we contacted Trk Telecom to check our Internet line for inadvertent overcharging. Twice they checked and found 'nothing'.

And then in July 2005 the lid blew off the pot... We received a dial-up service phone bill for a whopping $150+.

That was absolutely impossible...

So, after we (grudgingly) paid the $150 bill, we lodged a complaint, and requested an investigation...

Refusal to pay a disputed phone [or electric] bill is not really an option in Turkey. If you don't pay your bill on time, they just disconnect the service -- unceremoniously and without warning. They also charge interest on your unpaid balance until you do pay -- and, of course, you have to pay extra to have the service reconnected.

And we waited to hear the result of their investigation.

It never came. The following month, as mentioned, Trk Telecom delivered the ADSL service -- and our complaint (and the details of their investigation) got lost in the shuffle.

But that's not quite the end of the story...

NEW YORK, Sept 19 ?Microsoft Corp has approved a proposal to allow shareholders to vote on its executives' compensation, as US corporations' pay policies come under scrutiny in the wake of the financial crisis.

Some people have nothing better to do but cause trouble. This is especially true over at forums. I attend quite a few of them and let me tell you...the mud slinging that goes on is ridiculous. And you know who gets hit High Speed Internet hardest? The gurus. Just the other day, a very well known marketer who makes millions of dollars a year was attacked and called a liar. Well, if you're ever thinking of doing something so foolish, you might want to read this article. It will give you two reasons why doing such a thing might not be a good idea.

The first, and probably the most important internet personals is because of the potential lawsuit that you can be hit with. For some reason, people on the Internet think that they can say and do anything that they like and that they're immune from the real world laws. Newsflash Bucky...they're not. Slander, libel, whatever you want to call it, applies to the Internet just as much as it applies to the offline world. A person who you have publicly called a liar, in an attempt to discredit them and ruin their reputation, can turn around and sue your butt. If you think visiting your dentist is unpleasant, wait until you get hit with a slander or libel lawsuit.

We walked across the impressive bridge spanning the Perfume River looking for Lac Thien restaurant. Famous for being run by a family of deaf mutes, this is another eating experience not to be missed. The food is cheap and tasty! From here you are only a block from the Citadel .

We were unanimous in our decision to save our feet and take a Dragon Boat down the Perfume River for a day trip. Again this was organised at reception in our hotel. We were only ten minutes from the Boat dock, which was located at the back of the Arts Centre.

Seated on plastic garden chairs one behind the other, we chugged down the river. A husband and wife, with baby happily playing on the floor, worked the boat together.

This is a wonderful way to see the locals at work and play. Many are living on their boats, while others had all the machinations for work. The riverbanks were an ever changing slideshow of pagodas, houses, schools, countryside and all kinds of interesting activity which kept us intrigued. The camera at the ready!

Some of the Royal Tombs are some distance from the river's edge and you would need to hire a motorbike to see them. If the Tombs you want to see are too far, it is probably better to hire a motorbike or car from Hue to tour them.

We found our boat trip, which was a full day, gave us three very different, but all Fast Dsl worth while experiences. We just stepped off the boat and were right there.

You could spend more time in Hue, but two days gave us a good view of the city and surrounding areas.

Critics commented that Sony was actually aware of this problem but didn't act quickly enough, and if they had, the recall may have been avoided. Taking all this into account, it did effect Sony's reputation pretty badly, combined with the overheating demos at the Tokyo Game Show looked much worse. With batteries exploding and the new PlayStation console choking away, many investors decided to pull out. At that time, Sony's share price dropped 2.75%

Now, since the release of the PlayStation 3 console late last year, how many machines have been over heating? The good news seems to be that nobody has reported their machines over heating. It may have been just a fluke. In view of the variety of reasons why the consoles were getting over heated at the Tokyo Game Show, none of which seems to be down to the machines themselves, and all lack of consumer confidence and bad press blew it way out of proportion.

It has been experienced by many gamers that after prolonged gaming, sometimes 48 hours straight (more or less), playing various games on the PlayStation 3, there was no trouble to report. The New 15-Inch Macbook Pro - Two Month Impression

I've come to realize that in terms of actual hardware capability, this new Macbook Pro isn't much different from the old one, with the exception of the 9600M GT for games. Since Tm Bill have three consoles to play games on, the only game I tried was Microsoft's Flight Simulator X. Being an avid flight sim geek, I knew that FSX is extremely CPU-bound, and that it prefers Nvidia cards over ATi, sorry, AMD ones. From benchmarks at Tom's Hardware, I also knew that the 9600 GT (desktop version) was one of the best-performing graphics cards (for FSX), so you could say my curiosity was piqued. As it turned out, FSX ran like a fat kid in phys. ed. class due to the relatively slow CPU, so I suppose gaming won't be happening for me on this laptop. That doesn't mean the CPU is slow, that's internet loans the case for FSX (it can struggle to display 30 fps on an overclocked Core i7). A 2.4 GHz Penryn is pretty decent for a laptop.

I also pondered upon the value of this Macbook Pro. I've defended my Apple computers to naysayers by pointing out the build quality, tactile feel and virtues of the OS X operating system, streamyx access after the heartbreak that was FSX, I was questioning my decision to drop two large on this laptop. After all, I could have gotten an amazing Windows laptop that had a faster CPU, more RAM, a Blu-Ray drive, more HDD space, better graphics and a better screen for the same or less moolah. After giving it some thought, I realized that, as a writer, I needed a reliable computer, one that wouldn't be affected by viruses and other issues. Having struggled through university with a constantly vulnerable PC, I've become quite complacent now that I'm using Macs. I can download freely from Limewire, for example, knowing well that most files are viruses. All they do is not open, so I can just delete them and move on. I never need to format and reinstall, so my files are always safe; no more family photographs lost. This comfort comes at a cost, that is the premium associated with Apple computers.

I have dabbled in running OS X on PCs quite a bit, and while that was a good interim solution and an introduction to OS X, it's not how I would choose to run my computer, wondering if the next update will break my install. All things considered, I've come to terms paying the premium for the OS X operating system... it is worth it. You simply can't believe how much of a relief it is to be able to just use the computer without having to worry about malware, viruses, broken installs and other issues.

The complaints I have aren't all that great in number, but are niggles nonetheless. The battery was reduced in capacity... as an Indian associate of mine says, "senses not making." With the LED display, low-powered graphics card and 45 nm CPU, instead of getting the same battery life as the old model, this one could have had 20% better life. There are laptops out there that get 6+ hours on a single charge, but none of Apple's laptops come even close. The hinge, while having a delectably smooth operation, is not strong enough. I've seen complaints on Apple's forums where they think this is blasphemy and that Apple should compensate for their losses. While the problem isn't that big (they think you should be able to tilt the laptop 90 degrees so that the keyboard is like a wall, and not have the display tilt at all), it certainly deserves some attention. Heat, that eternal issue plaguing Apple laptops hasn't loosened its grip even slightly, and the MBP does get pretty hot, pretty fast. If only the underdeveloped world could afford Macbooks, birth rates could be controlled (it's a conspiracy, cue X-Files theme). The eject button for the DVD drive is software-based, not hardware. It wouldn't have killed anyone at Apple (I think) to have it hardwired as well. It would make using Windows less complicated (as having software do something as vanilla as eject a DVD can have unpredictable results in the world of Bill), and while we're on the subject, trackpad usage in Windows needs help. It doesn't register all the fancy new moves all the time, which to say the least, makes you very, very frustrated. Even when in OS X, the trackpad's detection needs a bit of help. An update was released a couple of days ago, but I don't notice anything different. I was also expecting a bit of a boost with the DDR3, but in real-world usage and benchmarks, there is no difference. While we're on the subject, a $2000 laptop should definitely have 4 GB of RAM, especially with an Apple laptop where people are bound to be running Parallels, VMware or any of the other professional apps that Macbook Pro users love. I will be upgrading to 4 GB very soon, the slow speeds of Parallels just has me down in the dumps.

I haven't outgrown the looks of this beautiful laptop, even if I've grown out of the gaga stage the beginning. I'm a sucker for anything well-built, and I notice minute differences in things, such as the solidity of the Japan-made PSP versus the relatively cheap feel of the Chinese-made one. One of the best things about the new MBP is how solid it is. This unibody thing Apple touts is more than a gimmick or simple selling point, it actually makes a big difference in a product that is portable. Unlike a desktop computer where your interaction is limited to the mouse and keyboard, you'll immediately notice the build quality of a laptop that you open, close and adjust frequently. And since the keyboard and trackpad are integrated into the computer, you'll notice if it creaks or feels cheap, but thankfully, this laptop does none of that. The older Macbook Pros had a bit of a design flaw in that over time, the area to the right of the trackpad, where you'd normally place your right palm, would deform under the weight of your hand and change the shape of the DVD drive opening. In some cases, getting DVDs in and out would not be possible after this happened. It looks like Apple has learned from this, and I can find zero issues of this type. In fact, I was very impressed with the quality of machining... all the cuts and openings are positively jewel-like and the overall finish looks speckled, for lack of a better term. Aluminum is just a wonderful material to work with, it's light, attractive, strong (when anodized) and won't wear like plastic. The trackpad is now glass, but you wouldn't know it if someone didn't tell you, and even then, you might not believe them. At first, I was skeptical, but I appreciate the fact that it is no longer plastic, and I'll tell you why. Any Macbook's trackpad, be it black, white or aluminum, would show wear within just a few months. What happens is that the oil from your skin along with the grooves that make isp usage your fingerprints sand the area that you normally use. In the beginning you can only see it from an angle, but as time goes on, it becomes increasingly noticeable. I've noticed nothing of the sort with this new glass trackpad, so that by itself will add to the longevity, as least aesthetically. Finally, the writer's instrument, the keyboard. It is the best keyboard I've seen on a laptop, along with the Macbook Air's. I was a disbeliever in laptop keyboards until I tried these! They have short, positive travel, and allow me to deliver my fastest typing hotels in malaysia Months of hard, fast typing hasn't changed them at all (not on the Macbook Pro, nor my aluminum keyboard for the iMac). These are a vast improvement over the previous mushy, Cadbury Dairy Milk-looking keys on the last Macbook Pro. Did I mention I love the backlighting? I like it so much I can't see myself ever buying a laptop without this feature.

I'm glad to see that the laptop is holding up well, and true to my experience with OS X, has given me no issues at all so far. I can just use the laptop for whatever I want without worry, which is why I got it in the first place. I think that Macbooks and Macbook Pros are great for anyone that values reliability over gaming, the only area where Windows laptops have an advantage. The only thing is, you'd have to cough up a little extra cash to get them, but at least you know they'll run OS X well for a few years to come, as even the oldest Intel Macs can run the latest version of OS X well. And if you're in the market for an Apple laptop, you can save yourself about $100, and wait till within a week of Snow Leopard's release. The Nintendo DSi - A Summary of Technical Improvements Over the DS Lite

The Nintendo DSi is the third incarnation of the popular series of Nintendo handheld gaming devices. The original Nintendo DS was lauchched in 2004 with its successor, the DS Lite, launching in 2006. The DSi is, at the time of writing, only available in Japan where it was launched in October 2008. It is expected to be released in the US and Europe around May 2009. The DSi introduces a number of technical improvements over its predecessor the DS Lite. The purpose of this article is to summarise these improvements to enable the reader to decide whether the new Nintendo DSi fulfils their requirements.

The first improvement to greet the user is the DSi's thinner casing. It is 2.6mm or around 12% thinner than the DS Lite. This is in part achieved by the removal of the GameBoy Advance cartridge slot found on the DS Lite, thus eliminating the new units backward compatibility with such games.

The second major visual improvement is the larger dual 3.25 inch LCD screens compared to the 3 inch screens in the DS Lite. Despite the larger screens the DSi still retains the same case width and height of the DS Lite. Whilst the new screens represent a 17% greater visual area the downside is a reduction in battery life from around 19 hours down to 14 hours at the lowest screen brightness setting. The new screens also have five brightness levels of adjustment compared to the previous four. The bottom screen is still a touch screen as per the previous generation unit.

Sound is another area of improvement for the DSi. The unit boasts improved speakers over the DS Lite although until the units can be directly compared we cannot speculate on how big a difference to sound quality the improvements make. The DSi now includes an MP3 music player as standard using the new integrated SD card slot as a source. The music must be in AAC format to be recognised by the unit.

The new unit features cameras for the first time on a Nintendo handheld device. The DSi incorporates two, one on the hinge between the screens (facing the user) and one on the outside of the casing. New software on the DSi allows users to manipulate photos in real time, although it is clear the cameras are included more as a fun accessory than for serious photography as they are only of 0.3 mega pixel resolution.

Nintendo has also made a raft of improvements under the skin of the DSi. The main processor is still an ARM9 model but now running at 133MHz, twice the speed of the 67MHz DS Lite unit. The co-processor is still an ARM7 unit running at 33MHz. The DSi now boasts 16MB of RAM memory (compared with 4MB in the Lite) and 256MB of internal storage memory. The 802.11 wireless connectivity is carried over from the old unit, albeit with speed improvements made when used with DSi specific software bought from the DSi shop (see below).

A new feature brought to the DSi is the DSi online shop, similar to those used for full-sized consoles such as the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo's own Wii. Here users will be able to download both free and purchased content for their device. One of the first downloads will be a free web browser to allow the DSi to access the internet. Another first for the DSi will be the ability to upgrade the firmware (or operating system) of the device, something never previously possible on a handheld Nintendo unit.

And again, according to law, it doesn't.
